Tibet: A magnitude 5 earthquake struck northern Tibet, China, according to the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ).

According to Saudi Press Agency, The center said the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers, with its epicenter hundreds of miles north of the China-Nepal border, where floods and landslides killed hundreds of people the previous day.

The Xinhua News Agency had earlier reported, citing the China Earthquake Networks Center, that a magnitude 4.7 earthquake struck the Nagqu area of Tibet on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Chinese authorities activated a Level IV flood response plan in Tibet amid concerns over the potential collapse of a barrier lake.
