Riyadh: The General Department of Education in Madinah Region has completed its preparations for the new academic year, with 2,631 schools ready to welcome nearly half a million students. More than 38,000 teachers are participating in comprehensive field and organizational preparations to ensure a smooth, orderly start to the school year on the first day.

According to Saudi Press Agency, preparations included preparing educational environments, completing school facilities and equipment, developing operational plans, and conducting field follow-ups on school readiness by education leaders and supervisory staff, alongside efforts by teaching and administrative staff. Textbooks were distributed to students before the end of the previous academic year, further supporting early preparations for the start of classes.

The department has also enhanced the education system's readiness through several facilities and programs that support the educational process, including five sports halls, 21 special education programs, two central schools for boys and girls, three educational buildings comprising 64 classrooms, four schools for gifted students, and four admissions committee offices. These facilities and programs help provide a well-prepared educational environment that meets the needs of students across different groups.

24,600 students have enrolled in the first grade of elementary school, while 19,700 children have enrolled in the third level of kindergarten. Schools and kindergartens are also preparing to welcome them and help them settle into their educational journey.

The General Department of Education in Madinah Region continues to monitor schools' readiness across Madinah and its governorates and coordinate the efforts of education leaders and supervisory, teaching, and administrative staff. These efforts aim to ensure a stable start to the academic year and provide safe, stimulating learning environments that support regular student attendance and help achieve educational objectives.
