Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Wednesday met with MP Taymour Jumblatt, leader of the "Democratic Gathering" bloc, accompanied by MPs Akram Chehayeb and Wael Abou Faour, along with party officials. After the meeting, Chehayeb expressed solidarity with the people of southern Lebanon, the Bekaa, and the southern suburbs in light of recent events, emphasizing the importance of addressing the financial crisis affecting public schools before the academic year starts. In turn, Mikati showed willingness to help resolve the issue, ensuring the smooth start of the school year. The PM separately met with a delegation from the "Lebanese-Gulf Economic Relations Development Authority," with whom he discussed ways to strengthen ties between Lebanon and Gulf countries, particularly in trade and investment. The delegation raised concerns about Lebanon's economic challenges, including airport security and the need to restore confidence in Lebanese banks. They also stressed the importance of electing a new pres ident to stabilize the country and improve relations with Saudi Arabia. Additionally, Mikati met with Tourism Minister, Walid Nassar, with whom he discussed Syrian students' registration in Lebanese schools, highlighting the need for collaboration among political parties to address key decisions.
