Saudi Minister of Health and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) Fahd bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajel, has launched a licensing initiative for developers of medical software in the realm of digital health. This initiative specifically targets software utilized for diagnosis, treatment, and streamlining medical decision-making processes.
The launch ceremony took place during the Global Health Exhibition at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, running from October 21 to 23, with CEO of SFDA Dr. Hisham bin Saad Aljadhey, in attendance.
This initiative is designed to bolster investment and industry within the medical equipment and supplies software domain. It paves the way for innovators, research institutions, and investors to introduce cutting-edge technologies in Saudi Arabia without the necessity of establishing physical manufacturing facilities. Furthermore, it plays a pivotal role in advancing digital diagnostic and treatment methodologies.
