Minister of Human Resources Discusses Investment in Healthcare Workforce

Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi highlighted the importance of investing in human capital within the healthcare sector during a panel discussion at the Global Health Exhibition, being held at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, north of Riyadh, from October 21 to 23. It featured key speakers, including Health Minister Fahd bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajel and Investment Minister Eng. Khalid Al-Falih.

The discussion emphasized the investment potential in healthcare, particularly in developing a highly skilled workforce. Minister Al-Rajhi praised the growing number of Saudi professionals in the private healthcare sector, revealing that the number of Saudi practitioners has increased from 1.7 million four years ago to 2.35 million.

He also noted the rise in women’s participation in the private healthcare sector, which has jumped from less than 20% five years ago to 35%, surpassing national targets.

Al-Rajhi further underscored that the ministry has issued 50
strategic localization decisions over the past four years across various sectors, including healthcare. The initiatives drive unprecedented growth in healthcare investments and foster robust local and international partnerships.
