Hajjah: The Northern Borders Region: The Northern Borders Region witnessed a conjunction of the moon and Antares, the brightest star in the Scorpius constellation, appearing close together above the southwestern horizon after sunset.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Space and Astronomy Society President Zahi Al-Khulaiwi explained that the reddish-orange supergiant lies 550 light-years away. He noted that conjunctions represent an apparent visual alignment rather than physical proximity in space, driven by the regular orbital motions of celestial bodies.

Clear skies and minimal light pollution in the Northern Borders deserts created ideal conditions for amateur astronomers and photographers to document the event, fostering broader astronomical awareness.
