Madinah: The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, represented by the Madinah Region Municipality, has raised its operational readiness for the 1447 AH Hajj season through an integrated field plan covering municipal services, health oversight, cleaning, and road maintenance.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the municipality deployed more than 5,000 personnel and over 1,000 pieces of equipment and machinery, alongside nine digital monitoring systems covering more than 900 square kilometers, to enhance rapid response at high-density locations.
The plan included an integrated spatial guidance system with more than 950 signs covering pedestrian direction, hotel numbering, and street names. Improvement and maintenance works were carried out covering more than 68,000 linear meters of roads, 14,000 square meters of sidewalks, 41,000 square meters of vehicle lanes, 190 poles, 5,000 square meters of agricultural planters, 26,000 square meters of renewed sidewalks, and 600 cubic meters of asphalt works.
The municipality affirmed the readiness of the Emergency and Crisis Center through proactive scenario exercises, deployment of rapid intervention teams, activation of rain and flood response plans, and dedication of number 940 to receive reports around the clock.
