The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the incursion into the Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli occupying government's radical minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, as describing the act as a provocation against all Muslims, and a flagrant and rejected violation of the international law and the historical and legal status quo in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The OIC stressed that Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif, with its entire area of 144 dunums, is a pure place of worship for Muslims alone and that Israel, the occupying force, has no sovereignty over the city of Al-Quds and its holy sites, calling on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities to put an end to these grave and repeated violations of the sanctity of holy sites and freedom of worship, and stressing the need to preserve the historical and legal status quo of Islamic and Christian sanctities in the occupied Al-Quds.
