Baku: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) participated in the Global Summit of Religious Leaders, hosted in Baku, Azerbaijan, as part of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). OIC Assistant Secretary-General for Science and Technology, Ambassador Aftab Ahmad Khokher, addressed the summit, emphasizing the need for humanity to live in harmony with nature and the importance of ethical action to safeguard the planet.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Ambassador Khokher highlighted the OIC’s commitment to supporting initiatives that focus on enhancing energy efficiency, promoting sustainable agriculture, and ensuring responsible water usage. He reiterated that these practices should be deeply integrated into societies to address the global climate change challenge effectively.
