PM Chairs A Meeting To Follow Up The Transport Projects In The General Budget

The Prime Minister, Muhammad Al-Sudani, chaired today, Wednesday, a meeting dedicated to following up on transportation projects in the federal budget for the year 2023.

The meeting discussed, according to a statement of his media office, the ministry's projects within the government program plan for the specified periods, and in light of the three-year budget, in line with the presentation of government priorities, the share of listing, financing, implementation, and the distribution of these projects among the governorates.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of addressing the problems of implementation and financing for these projects, and developing proactive solutions for them, and alternatives to any obstacle that may face work, whether administrative and legal obstacles or obstacles related to financing.

The meeting reviewed the progress of work in the projects of the great port of Faw, and the stages of completion of Basra-Shalamcheh and Sawa-Hijama railway lines, as he stressed the importance of developing the railway transport sector, with what it represents of the backbone of infrastructure development and an added service that facilitates the movement of citizens.

Al-Sudani directed the preparation of a plan to develop the aviation sector, the Iraqi Airways Company, and the development of its specialized staff and service projects supporting it.

The meeting also discussed a number of other service projects in the transportation sector, and took the necessary measures in this regard.
