Prince Faisal Bin Khalid Cardiac Center in Aseer Introduces Advanced Technology for Treatment of Drug-Resistant Hypertension

Aseer: The Prince Faisal Bin Khalid Cardiac Center, part of the Aseer Health Cluster, has successfully performed its first therapeutic catheterization procedure for the treatment of uncontrolled hypertension using the Paradise Ultrasound Renal Denervation System. The achievement marks the first use of the technology in Aseer Region.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the procedure was performed on two patients in their sixties who suffered from uncontrolled hypertension despite receiving more than four medications at maximum prescribed doses. Both patients also had accompanying health conditions, including chronic kidney disease and diabetes. Following evaluation by a multidisciplinary medical team, the therapeutic catheterization procedure was completed within a single day.

The center noted that the technology uses ultrasound energy to target nerves surrounding the renal arteries, helping reduce blood pressure in patients who do not respond adequately to medication. The technique is characterized by high success rates, rapid recovery, and approval by relevant international health authorities.

The center added that both patients were discharged on the same day after their conditions stabilized and they demonstrated an early response to treatment. It emphasized that the achievement reflects the center's commitment to adopting advanced medical technologies and providing high-quality healthcare services that contribute to enhancing the standard of medical care in Aseer Region.
