Riyadh: Qiddiya has officially announced the establishment of its dedicated Destination Marketing and Management Organisation (DMMO), branded as ‘Play Qiddiya City’. This strategic move marks a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing commitment to engaging with trade partners worldwide, setting the stage for fruitful collaborations with businesses, investors, and trade professionals.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Qiddiya City is the world’s first city built specifically for play, strategically located in the Tuwaiq Mountains, just 40 minutes from Riyadh. It is a central element of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, focusing on entertainment, sports, and culture. The city will feature family-friendly theme parks, sports arenas, cultural venues, and a range of outdoor and adventure activities.
Recent research by Skift, commissioned by Qiddiya City, indicates a growing trend in entertainment, sports, and cultural tourism. A survey revealed that over 70% of travellers now prioritize such experiences in their
travel plans. Moreover, 81% of respondents expressed a willingness to plan trips around musical performances or festivals, while 76% would travel exclusively for sporting events or tournaments.
The primary mission of ‘Play Qiddiya City’ DMMO is to promote and manage Qiddiya as a prime destination for visiting, living, working, and investing. The organisation aims to forge strong relationships with the travel trade, ensuring partners are well-informed and actively involved in shaping the destination’s future.
