Riyadh: Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs (MNGHA) Bandar bin Abdulmohsen Al-Knawy expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for his generous patronage of the Riyadh Global Medical Biotechnology Summit 2026. He affirmed that the patronage reflects the wise leadership's commitment to future sectors that are national priorities.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Knawy said the attendance and participation of Minister of National Guard Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz at the summit align with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Biotechnology Strategy. He added that this contributes to localizing innovation, advancing the sector, and supporting a sustainable healthcare economy.

He noted that the summit serves as a high-level international platform bringing together decision-makers, experts, researchers, investors, regulators, and global companies. Participants will explore the future of the field and showcase the latest solutions in diagnostics, treatment, and precision medicine. The fourth edition has attracted more than 100 executive speakers from leading national and international organizations, alongside broad participation from academic, investment, and industry leaders.

More than 65 agreements and memoranda of understanding are expected to be signed, supporting the transfer and localization of knowledge and technologies. Al-Knawy said these agreements will also strengthen Saudi Arabia's position as a global hub for innovation in the sector.

He stated that the summit is built around four main pillars: developing human capabilities, strengthening the financing and investment ecosystem, developing research and innovation infrastructure, and supporting regulatory and legislative frameworks. These efforts contribute to translating scientific research outcomes into practical applications and scalable products.

Al-Knawy concluded by affirming that the summit provides a global platform for strengthening integration among the healthcare, scientific, technological, and investment ecosystems. He said this contributes to consolidating Saudi Arabia's position among countries at the forefront of supporting innovation and building a more advanced and sustainable healthcare future.
