Riyadh: The Ambulance Services Hackathon, organized by the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA), kicked off today under the patronage of SRCA President Jalal Alowaisi. The event seeks to transform ambulance and operational challenges into practical technological solutions by leveraging artificial intelligence, data analytics, and emerging technologies to enhance response efficiency and foster innovation in ambulance services.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the hackathon brings together innovators, specialists, and emerging technology enthusiasts from technical and health disciplines. Participants will develop prototypes and scalable, practical solutions that contribute to improving ambulance services, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting rapid response to emergency cases.

The event focuses on priority ambulance challenges, most notably the smart positioning of ambulance units and accurate determination of incident locations. It explores the use of data and modern technologies to support decision-making, improve the distribution of ambulance units, and accelerate access to incident locations.

The hackathon is being held on September 13 and 14 at The Garage in Riyadh as part of an innovation journey aimed at transforming daily operational needs into digital solutions that can be tested, implemented, and scaled.
