Riyadh Governor Initiates 2026 National Greening Season

Riyadh:Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz has launched the 2026 National Greening Season, an initiative organized by the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this initiative is part of national efforts to fulfill the Saudi Green Initiative's objectives. These objectives include developing vegetation cover, preventing land degradation, and promoting the planting of native, eco-friendly plants. Additionally, it aims to raise awareness of sound environmental practices and encourage a culture of volunteerism.

The governor highlighted the importance of the National Greening Season, praising the efforts dedicated to environmental conservation and vegetation development. He stressed the need for enhancing community participation and urged citizens, residents, and civil society organizations to engage in activities that contribute to environmental protection and sustainability.
