Jeddah:Saudi Arabia Driven by the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, the Kingdom is enhancing its sports infrastructure to meet international standards, aiming to become a global hub for premier tournaments with an expanding network of world-class venues.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Saudi Arabia has recently hosted significant global and continental competitions across its premier facilities. Key among these is King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, which can accommodate over 62,000 spectators and has a strong track record of hosting regional and international championships. This facility is supported by the recently redeveloped Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City.

In Riyadh, modernization efforts are in progress at King Fahd Sports City to bring its facilities to premier global standards in anticipation of future international events. Additionally, construction is advancing on several state-of-the-art venues, including the 47,000-seat Aramco Stadium in Al-Khobar, set to be completed next month and host matches during the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.

Future projects include the Jeddah Central Stadium, designed to reflect local architectural heritage, and the multi-purpose Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium in Qiddiya. Numerous other venues are being developed across the Kingdom.

A cornerstone of these developments is the Kingdom's plan for the 2034 FIFA World Cup, which includes 15 stadiums across five major cities. This plan features 11 newly built venues and four extensively upgraded sports cities, highlighting Saudi Arabia's growing prominence in international sports and its capacity to host global tournaments.
