Saudi Arabia Maintains Global Leadership in Date Exports, Production.

Riyadh: A report by the National Center for Palms and Dates has confirmed Saudi Arabia’s continued global dominance in date exports and production for 2023.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the country’s date exports exceeded SAR1.463 billion. The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) also reports a production volume exceeding 1.9 million tons.

By the end of 2023, Saudi dates had reached consumers in 119 countries. Since 2016, the value of date exports has doubled, achieving a remarkable annual cumulative growth rate of 12.3%. This significant growth across numerous markets is a testament to the unwavering support of the wise leadership and the collaborative efforts of date producers, exporters, and government agencies.

The National Center for Palms and Dates has been instrumental in elevating Saudi dates to a globally recognized, high-quality product. This aligns with the national priorities outlined in Vision 2030, aiming to bolster non-oil revenue streams and diversify the economy. The center has e
mpowered Saudi date producers to compete effectively on the international stage by facilitating export procedures and fostering partnerships with the private sector.
