New York:The Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, has announced a $6 million contribution from the Kingdom to the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre (UNCCT). This pledge was made during a meeting with UN Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres, held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the financial support will be distributed over four years, starting from the 2027 fiscal year. This donation underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to the importance of a dedicated UN centre for counter-terrorism capacity-building.

The Kingdom's support is a testament to its ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in all its forms and to reinforce the UNCCT's role in enhancing the capabilities of UN Member States. It also highlights Saudi Arabia's dedication to unifying global efforts in counter-terrorism.

This contribution marks a continuation of Saudi Arabia's longstanding cooperation with the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism. Previously, the Kingdom contributed $110 million for the establishment of the UNCCT and recently provided $300,000 to support the Arab Counter-Terrorism Strategy project.
