Djibouti: The Republic of Djibouti has awarded the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia its highest honor, the “National Independence Order of June 27th, Commander Rank,” in recognition of the Kingdom’s substantial support for the country’s development through the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD).
According to Saudi Press Agency, the honor was bestowed by President of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh and presented to SFD CEO Sultan Al-Marshad by Djibouti’s Prime Minister, Abdoulkader Mohamed. Al-Marshad was visiting Djibouti to sign an agreement that includes a SAR6 million grant aimed at rehabilitating the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Dialysis Center.
During the ceremony, Al-Marshad expressed gratitude to Djibouti’s President and Prime Minister, emphasizing the strong, 40-year relationship between the two nations. The Saudi Fund for Development has played a crucial role in financing various development projects in Djibouti, further cementing the ties between the two countries.
