Saudi Arabia to Host Donors Conference to Support Displaced Persons, Refugees in Sahel, Lake Chad Region

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), will host a donors conference Saturday in Jeddah to support displaced individuals and refugees in the Sahel and Lake Chad region. The conference is organized in cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and coordination with the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

The conference aims to mobilize resources for humanitarian and development initiatives targeting affected populations, particularly displaced individuals and refugees. It will focus on the United Nations’ coordinated humanitarian response plans. Additionally, the conference seeks to raise awareness of the complex crisis and address it by building strong partnerships to enhance effective humanitarian responses and provide greater support for long-term solutions.

The event reflects the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to supporting affected and distressed co
