New York:Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, attended a high-level event on the Rohingya crisis. This event was organized by the United States, the United Kingdom, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Turkey, The Gambia, and the European Union, alongside the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Dr. Al Rabeeah highlighted the concerning humanitarian situation faced by over one million Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, who rely completely on humanitarian aid. He pointed out the rising needs and limited funding, noting that the 2026 Joint Response Plan requires over $710 million to assist approximately 1.6 million Rohingya refugees and host community members.

Since 2017, Saudi Arabia has contributed more than $177 million to mitigate the Rohingya refugee crisis. KSrelief has been collaborating with both international and local partners on projects aimed at improving food security, shelter, water, and sanitation for refugees and host communities.

Dr. Al Rabeeah stressed that humanitarian aid alone is insufficient. He emphasized the necessity of creating conditions in Myanmar that allow for the safe and voluntary return of Rohingya refugees. He reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's dedication to cooperating with all partners to meet urgent needs and foster a safe and sustainable future for Rohingya refugees.
