Riyadh: Saudi Arabia's northern international highway, which passes through Rafha Governorate, is one of the Kingdom's key overland transport corridors, carrying millions of travelers and tens of thousands of trucks each year, including transit traffic between the Gulf region and neighboring countries.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the highway is a key trade and transport link between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Trkiye, with connections extending to Europe. It also serves communities along its route, facilitating the movement of passengers and goods and strengthening the Kingdom's transport and logistics network.

The northern international highway stretches for more than 1,700 kilometers. It begins with two routes from Riyadh and Eastern Region that converge in Hafar Al-Batin, before extending to Jordan through Northern Borders Region. It is also connected to a number of major roads.
