Riyadh: The Saudi men's national basketball team is gearing up to host Japan on Thursday in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers, set to take place at the indoor sports hall of King Abdullah Sports City. Following this, the team will travel to face the Republic of Korea on August 31, marking the start of the fourth window and the second round of the Asian qualifiers.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Saudi Arabia currently holds the sixth position in Group F with nine points, having achieved three wins and three losses in the first round. This record is currently on par with the records of both Korea and China.

The Saudi team aims to leverage this qualifying window to achieve positive outcomes against Japan and Korea. By adding to its points tally, the team hopes to ascend the Group F standings and enhance its prospects of securing a spot in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027.
