New York:Foreign Ministers from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and T¼rkiye gathered in New York to discuss the progress of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, focusing on establishing its General Secretariat, committees, and working groups.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting included Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and T¼rkiye's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. The ministers strongly condemned recent attacks targeting Makkah and civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia and praised the Saudi armed forces for their defense capabilities. They affirmed Saudi Arabia's right to defend itself as per Article 51 of the UN Charter.

The ministers also discussed plans for a session involving the chiefs of staff from the three countries to further support Saudi Arabia under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement. This agreement highlights that any aggression against one signatory is considered an attack on all.

During the discussions, the ministers emphasized the importance of international law, state sovereignty, and security of maritime navigation. They reiterated their commitment to regional peace and stability, advocating for de-escalation and peaceful resolutions to ongoing crises.
