Brazil: The 2024 G20 president, Brazil, organized an international seminar titled “Culture and Climate Change” as part of the cultural track programs and events accompanying this year’s G20 Summit held under the theme “Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet.” The seminar focused on the intersection of cultural heritage and climate change, emphasizing the need for proactive measures to protect cultural assets from environmental threats.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Saudi Heritage Commission participated in a discussion session titled “Challenges of Climate Change on Cultural Heritage.” Heritage expert Dr. Adnan Al-Jaber represented the Kingdom and shared insights into Saudi Arabia’s efforts to mitigate the impact of climate change on cultural heritage sites. He highlighted the challenges posed by natural disasters such as floods and storms, stressing the importance of preserving cultural assets as enduring symbols that enable future generations to connect with their history and culture.
