SWCC Signs MoUs with Korean DL EandC and Taekyung Companies

Riyadh, The Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) signed yesterday memorandums of understanding with two Korean companies, DL EandC and Taekyung, to boost strategic cooperation in the scientific and advisory fields, and to exchange expertise, studies, and innovations in a way that enables expanding opportunities for growth and prosperity, and adopting flexible options that help accelerate renewable solutions.

The MoUs were signed by SWCC Deputy Governor for Research and Execution of Innovative Projects Tariq Alghaffari, Taekyung Group CEO Hae Ryun Kim, and DL EandC Vice President of Strategy and Planning and Nuclear, Plant Business Division Sunghun Ryu on the sidelines of the Saudi-Korean Investment Forum 2023, organized by the Ministry of Investment in Riyadh.

SWCC and DL EandC will work to increase the use of solar energy as a new source of zero-carbon energy, conduct joint studies and research into the production of green hydrogen and ammonia, and promote a sustainable and environmentally friendly hydrogen economy.

SWCC and Taekyung's MoU focuses on carbon use and storage, and developing research into technologies for using seawater and saline water to produce and extract valuable materials. It also entails intellectual property exchange, which is expected to enhance the capabilities of both sides to innovate and accelerate the development of advanced solutions to address pressing global challenges related to the future of the water desalination industry.
