The “Building the Future for Yemeni Youth” program concludes in Aden with the graduation of 687 individuals

The “Building the Future for Yemeni Youth” program, funded by the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SDRPY) and Alwaleed Humanitarian Foundation, was concluded today in Aden, with the graduation of 687 young men and women.

The graduation ceremony of the program, which was implemented by the Yemen Foundation for Training and Employment and included three tracks; training for employment, self-employment, and work tracks, was attended by SDRPY representatives and several government sector officials in Aden.

The Executive Director of the Yemen Foundation for Training for Employment, Ameen Al-Qadri, praised the efforts made by all concerned parties in the program, as well as the commitment of the beneficiaries and their determination to succeed.

For his part, Deputy Director of the SDRPY Office in Aden, Mohammed Al-Yahya, said: The “Building the Future for Yemeni Youth” program had an important role in graduating 687 young men and women, as it comes within SDRPY projects and initiatives and its efforts in various sectors and fields, including building capacities and cadres in Yemen, through which it contributed to the transfer of expertise, the development of competencies, and the support of the youth of both genders in obtaining a better standard of living.

The “Building the Future for Yemeni Youth” program targeted young men and women looking for work with the aim of employment and connecting them to workplaces with many private sector partnerships, linking beneficiaries with job opportunities and enabling them to start their small projects.

The program included many training and rehabilitation workshops that contributed to enhancing the skills of the beneficiaries and linking them with potential employers, including psychological support, enhancing skills in workplaces, apprenticeships, information technology, and the English language.

SDRPY provides efforts to build the capabilities of cadres in Yemen, in addition to transferring experiences and developing competencies, and supporting youth to obtain a better standard of living and a higher ability to withstand societal stability to confront various challenges and mitigate or limit their effects.

The program also seeks to raise the efficiency and effectiveness of Yemeni capabilities and cadres in various fields to implement the roles assigned to them, improve daily life and improve the livelihood of the Yemeni people throughout Yemen.

The support of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen in capacity building and development includes institutional support and technical support, as (40) engineers from the housing sector employees in Aden benefited from training in project management and conducting field surveys within the appropriate housing project, in addition to 200 beneficiaries of the cash-for-work initiative in electrical installations, refrigeration and air conditioning, and 162 women who benefited from training workshops and consulting services in managing small projects, handicrafts, and computers.

SDRPY also provided support in training and capacity building through the implementation of 13 training courses, from which 45 engineers and technicians benefited from each training course from the Ministry of Energy and Electricity, and trained 15 firefighting staff at Aden Airport, and trained 15 from specialists in the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, and a workshop to identify and address obstacles to agricultural development in Al-Jawf Governorate, benefiting 45 employees of the Agriculture and Irrigation Office and the Office of Social Affairs, as well as 20 doctors and nurses who benefited from training on the use of medical devices and their periodic maintenance in three Hospitals in Marib governorate, in addition to 17 doctors and nurses who benefited from the capacity-building program in dialysis centers to operate health facilities and raise their efficiency and effectiveness.

The “Building the Future for Yemeni Youth” program is one of 224 development projects and initiatives implemented by SDRPY in various Yemeni governorates to serve the Yemeni citizens in seven basic sectors, including education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture and fisheries, and capacity building of government institutions, in addition to development programs.
