The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Chairs Cabinet Session in Jeddah

Jeddah: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session held today in Jeddah. The Cabinet reviewed the progress of preparations for the 1447 AH Hajj season and the achievements of the Pilgrim Experience Program, focusing on coordination among government entities and efforts to enhance services for pilgrims across Makkah, Madinah, and the holy sites.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Cabinet commended the Ministry of Interior and other government agencies for facilitating the arrival of pilgrims through the Makkah Route Initiative, now in its eighth year. This initiative has benefited over 1.2 million pilgrims, expanding to 10 countries and 17 international entry points, demonstrating the Kingdom's commitment to improving services for pilgrims.

The Cabinet was briefed on phone calls between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and leaders of the UAE and Qatar, discussing cooperation and addressing regional developments to strengthen security and stability. Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary stated that the Cabinet reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's commitment to national security and praised the armed forces' capabilities.

The Cabinet expressed support for the outcomes of the GCC interior ministers' emergency meeting in Riyadh, which emphasized Gulf security and coordination to address regional challenges. The establishment of the Saudi-Spanish Strategic Partnership Council was also highlighted as a step toward strengthening bilateral relations and economic cooperation.

Domestically, the Cabinet noted the completion of operations at Riyadh Metro's main stations, contributing to the development of urban infrastructure and aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 goals. The Cabinet also celebrated Saudi students' achievement of winning 24 awards at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair 2026.

The Cabinet made several decisions, including authorizing discussions on memorandums of understanding with Malaysia, Kuwait, Morocco, Tunisia, Djibouti, India, and Thailand, and approving agreements related to the GCC Railway Project, civil aviation, and intellectual property with various countries and organizations.
