The Federal Police forces carried out a security operation to secure the rugged agricultural roads close to the banks of the Diyala River.

A security source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: "The police forces penetrated the orchards of the Waqf Basin, northeast of Baquba, from two axes, in order to end the movement of ISIS sleeper cells and prevent them from achieving a foothold in the region."

He added, "The operation has important goals, which are strengthening security in the vicinity of the largest agricultural basin, preventing any terrorist attacks, and restoring the security deployment plan."
