The Minister of Interior, Abd al-Amir al-Shammari, held yesterday a security meeting in Dhi Qar, which included operations and police chiefs of 5 governorates, to discuss plans for the Arbaeen visit of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.

Dhi Qar police chief Major General Makki al-Khikani told the semi-official Iraqi News Agency, "The Minister of Interior held a security conference in the province to discuss security plans for the Arbaeen visit with the operations leaders in 5 provinces.

He added that "the meeting discussed the security plan for securing the Arbaeen visit in those provinces."

He pointed out that "the meeting, which lasted more than two hours, witnessed extensive deliberations about the data of the plans drawn up by the operations commanders and police chiefs."
