The Presidency of the Republic condemned, on Sunday, the assassination of the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. The Presidency of the Republic said in a statement: "We strongly condemn the assassination of the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, expressing our deepest condolences and sympathy to the Lebanese people, his family and loved ones for this great loss, and we renew our strong condemnation and denunciation of the sinful aggression against the brotherly Lebanese people, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of hundreds and the displacement of thousands from their homes and regions amid the silence of the international community." It added that immediate action by the international community to stop this aggression is an urgent necessity to end the war on the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and prevent escalation and attempts to expand the war to wider ranges that may drag the region into chaos."
