The Joint Operations Command announced today, Wednesday, the launch of the sixth phase of Operation Swords of Truth.

The command stated in a statement, that: “Based on the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and under the supervision and planning of the Joint Operations Command, and as a continuation of the preemptive operations and their stages, today, Wednesday, the sixth phase of Operation Swords of Truth was launched.”

It added: "This operation comes according to accurate intelligence information, with the participation of units from the operations of Anbar, Al-Jazeera, western Nineveh, the Border Forces and the Popular Mobilization Forces, with the support of the Army Aviation, the Air Force, and all intelligence agencies and departments."

It explained: "This stage aims to enhance security work within the border strip, pursue ISIS terrorist elements, purify lands, and prevent smuggling and infiltration across international borders," noting that "the military and security units of all kinds continue to maintain pressure on the defeated terrorist elements and continue their raids that played the melody of victory in throughout the honorable Iraq.”
