Transport General Authority Unveils New Regulations for Motorcycle Goods Transportation

Riyadh: The Transport General Authority (TGA) has announced the issuance of the Executive Regulations for the Commercial Transportation of Goods via Motorcycles, transitioning the activity from a regulatory sandbox to a formal regulatory framework.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this significant development reflects the sector's maturity and establishes a clear operational foundation, supporting the expanding delivery services industry. The new regulations are designed to enhance market clarity and stability, creating a favorable environment for investment and competition. They offer the private sector broader opportunities to develop innovative business models and services, while positioning the sector for expansion within a well-defined regulatory framework that aligns with the evolving transportation and logistics landscape.

The regulations aim to bolster safety, service reliability, and beneficiary protection, while improving operational efficiency and promoting sustainable practices. This approach seeks to balance growth requirements with service quality, as well as social and environmental responsibility.

Part of TGA's ongoing efforts includes building a legislative framework that accommodates modern transportation models, fostering investment and innovation. The move enhances the sector's competitiveness and aligns with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030.

TGA has invited establishments, beneficiaries, and stakeholders to review the Executive Regulations and their requirements through its official website.
