The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights confirmed today, Friday, that more than 100 medical and emergency workers have been martyred in Lebanon since October of last year. Spokesperson for the Commission, Ravina Shamdasani, said in press statements, "In total, more than 100 medical and emergency workers have been martyred across Lebanon since October of last year," noting that these figures were collected by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. She continued: "We have also received several reports of airstrikes targeting other medical centers and the martyrdom of paramedics and firefighters." For her part, Spokesperson for the World Health Organization, Christian Lindmeier, revealed that since September 17, 18 attacks have taken place on health facilities in Lebanon, resulting in the martyrdom of 72 medical workers. Lebanon has been subjected to Zionist aggression since October 2023, but recently the Zionist entity has increased the pace of aerial and arti llery bombardment in an unprecedented manner, and expanded the scope of its targeting to extend to the capital, Beirut, which has led to the martyrdom and injury of thousands of Lebanese, in addition to forcing more than a million people to flee their homes.
