Jazan: Wooden sculptures highlighting agricultural and rural traditions in Jazan Region are bringing local heritage to life through a contemporary artistic lens, transforming traditional plows, household utensils, and daily tools into refined aesthetic pieces.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the artworks reflect the 15-year career of Saudi sculptor Dhaafi Al-Kulaibi, who draws inspiration from Jazan's rural and maritime environments. He meticulously carves native wood grains and traditional engravings into modern compositions, a process that can take up to six months of manual craftsmanship per piece to capture the enduring bond between local communities and their land.

Al-Kulaibi noted that his work seeks to preserve regional identity while presenting it in forms suitable for contemporary art galleries and private collections. His pieces have drawn significant interest at local exhibitions, reflecting growing public appreciation for heritage-driven fine art.

To ensure the craft's continuity, Al-Kulaibi trains emerging talent and is working to launch a specialized sculpting club under the Hawi national portal for hobbies, fostering a collaborative hub where local practitioners can exchange expertise and hone their skills.
