Wrth’s Artisans Design Tools for Holy Kaaba Washing Ceremony

Riyadh: The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (Wrth) is participating in producing the washing tools for the Holy Kaaba for 1448 AH, in cooperation with the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, combining the honor of service with the authenticity of traditional Saudi arts. This project highlights the presence of traditional arts in one of the most prominent rituals associated with the Holy Kaaba.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the tools' designs were inspired by the aesthetics of Arabic calligraphy, Islamic ornamentation, and traditional woodcraft, resulting in eight pieces blending authenticity with a contemporary vision.

The project affirms the ability of traditional arts to feature in national projects of spiritual and cultural significance, reflecting the advanced skills of Wrth's students, qualifying them to contribute to distinguished work tied to the Kingdom's cultural heritage and rich history.

Wrth continues its mission of highlighting national identity, preserving Saudi traditional arts, empowering their practitioners, and strengthening their presence locally and globally, preserving and developing cultural heritage for future generations.
