Yemeni Ministers Inspect KSrelief-Funded Veterinary Center in Al-Mahra

Riyadh: Yemen's Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Fisheries Salem Al-Soqtari and Minister of Water and Environment Tawfeeq Al-Sharjabi inspected the Veterinary Center in Qishn District of Al-Mahra Governorate. The visit highlighted the center's role in local development and the broader efforts to support the agricultural and livestock sectors in Yemen.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Veterinary Center is part of the Sustainable Agriculture and Agricultural and Fisheries Empowerment Project, funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief). This initiative aims to enhance resilience in Yemen by improving veterinary services, curbing disease spread, and supporting livestock development. The center also plays a role in improving the livelihoods of families in Al-Mahra.

The project involves the rehabilitation of four veterinary centers across the governorates of Hadhramaut, Al-Mahra, and Shabwa. This is being done in coordination with local agriculture offices and authorities, aiming to strengthen the infrastructure of veterinary services and improve their efficiency. The project is part of Saudi Arabia's efforts to support Yemen's national economy by enhancing the productivity of its agriculture and livestock sectors.
