RIYADH: President Rashad Al-Alimi of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council issued a congratulatory message to Saudi Arabia’s leadership for securing the bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup. The message was directed to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Alimi sent a cable on behalf of himself, the council, the government, and the Yemeni people, praising the ambitious Saudi bid. The bid achieved the highest score in FIFA World Cup history, marking a significant achievement for the kingdom. Al-Alimi described the victory as well-deserved and a testament to Saudi Arabia’s progress.

The Yemeni leader highlighted that hosting the global event is a valuable addition to Saudi Arabia’s development strides under Vision 2030. He expressed his confidence that the 2034 World Cup would rank among the greatest tournaments in history, further enhancing Saudi Arabia’s reputation on the world stage.
