23 Projects Open for Feedback through Istitlaa Platform

Riyadh: The Saudi Competitiveness and Business Center's (SCBC) unified electronic Public Consultation Platform, Istitlaa, has introduced 23 projects related to economic and development affairs, in collaboration with 19 government entities. The platform empowers stakeholders to provide their feedback and proposals on the projects before they receive approval.

According to Saudi Press Agency, key projects featured on the platform include the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing's initiative titled 'Guide to Evaluating Food Establishments.' This project is designed to enhance competitiveness among food establishments and encourage continuous improvement in compliance with licensing requirements and conditions. Public feedback on this project will be accepted until September 3, 2026.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation has also launched the project 'Amendments to Executive Regulations for Aviation Safety: Part (7).' This initiative seeks to expand the scope of protection to encompass all personnel engaged in safety-sensitive activities, while introducing new preventive requirements, including education and training, alongside phased implementation timelines to ensure a smooth transition. Feedback from the public on this project is open until September 11, 2026.

Additionally, the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) has proposed the project 'Regulation on Process Safety and Handling Requirements for Industrial and Medical Gases.' This project aims to establish a mandatory regulatory and technical framework for establishments operating in the industrial and medical gases sector within MODON industrial cities. It focuses on standardizing the requirements and procedures governing production, filling, storage, and inspection, strengthening safety requirements to minimize risks to workers, the community, and the environment, enhancing operational efficiency and product quality, and facilitating oversight and monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements. Public feedback on this project is welcome until September 12, 2026.

The National Center for Waste Management (MWAN) has also put forward the project 'Standards and Technical Guidelines for Asbestos Waste Management.' This project aims to establish minimum controls and requirements for a broad range of activities under the Waste Management Law and its Implementing Regulations. The guidelines serve as a critical tool for providing technical support and guidance to stakeholders, including waste generators, service providers, investors in the waste management sector, and various authorities, ministries, government entities, and private-sector entities. Public feedback on this project is open until September 12, 2026.

The presentation of draft laws, regulations, and similar projects through the Istitlaa platform underscores the Kingdom's ongoing commitment to enhancing transparency in the legislative environment, promoting a culture of public consultation among the general public, government entities, and the private sector, and engaging them in shaping projects related to the business environment.
