An earthquake struck Khanaqin district in Diyala Governorate.

A local source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that “an earthquake measuring 4.9 degrees struck Khanaqin district, northeast of Baquba,” indicating that “the people of the border villages sensed its occurrence without recording any material losses”.
