GEOSA President Elected Co-Chair of UN Geospatial Information Committee

New york: President of the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA) Dr. Mohammed bin Yahya Al-Sayel was elected Co-Chair of the UN Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) during its 16th session at UN Headquarters in New York.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Sayel expressed his pride in the confidence of member states, affirming his commitment to working with the committee's secretariat and bureau to strengthen international cooperation, support member states in developing their national geospatial systems, build capacity, and exchange expertise.

Al-Sayel also chairs the UN Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management for the Arab States (UN-GGIM: Arab States), with Saudi Arabia holding the chairmanship and general secretariat through GEOSA.

UN-GGIM is an international platform for coordinating efforts among countries in the geospatial field, establishing shared frameworks and directions to support the use of geospatial information in development and decision-making.
