Saudi arabia: Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) spokesperson Khalid Al-Farhan announced that the Haramain High Speed Railway has transported over 800,000 passengers since the launch of its operational plan for the 1447 AH Hajj season through the execution of 3,649 trips to date, reflecting significant operational efforts to facilitate the seamless movement of pilgrims and enhance transport efficiency between Makkah, Madinah, and Jeddah.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Farhan emphasized that the Haramain High Speed Railway stands as the fastest mode of transportation between Makkah and Madinah, traversing the 453-kilometer distance in just two hours and 15 minutes. Recognized as one of the fastest trains in the world, the railway operates at speeds of up to 300 kilometers per hour. Its strategic 453-kilometer route connects five major stations: Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, King Abdullah Economic City, and King Abdulaziz International Airport.
Earlier, SAR announced its comprehensive operational plan for the 1447 AH Hajj season, which includes operating more than 5,300 trips and providing an expanded capacity of over 2.2 million seats. This immense logistical undertaking highlights the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to serving pilgrims and facilitating their travel with world-class infrastructure.
