Health Ministry Provides Over One Million Medical Services to Pilgrims During Hajj Season

Mecca: Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health Abdulaziz Abdulbaqi revealed that more than 1,095,920 health services have been provided by the health system to pilgrims since the beginning of the Hajj season (1447 AH) up to the seventh day of Dhu Al-Hijjah. According to Saudi Press Agency, these efforts form part of an integrated approach aimed at enhancing the quality of health services and improving access to them, thereby ensuring the safety of pilgrims. Abdulbaqi added that this aligns with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Pilgrim Experience Program, both stemming from Saudi Vision 2030, to enable pilgrims to perform their rituals with ease and tranquility. Ministry of Health data revealed that the total number of beneficiaries of services provided by health centers and urgent care reached 41,178. Emergency departments received 28,817 cases, while outpatient clinics served 4,379 beneficiaries. In addition, 4,013 patients were admitted to hospitals, and 318 surgi cal operations were performed, including 222 cardiac catheterizations and 13 open-heart surgeries. Medical teams promptly and efficiently handled 28 cases of heat exhaustion within a field system designed to ensure rapid response and enhance the effectiveness of medical intervention across various sites. These efforts were supported by extensive preventive measures, including more than 292,585 preventive services, which contributed to strengthening the health of pilgrims. Moreover, more than 119,995 calls were received through the unified call center (937). The health system continues its efforts with high efficiency, relying on proactive plans and an integrated, high-quality healthcare network to ensure the provision of advanced, safe medical care to pilgrims. This reflects its ongoing commitment to delivering the highest standards of care throughout the Hajj season.
