The Israeli army announced the interception of a drone that penetrated Israeli airspace around Ashkelon.
“Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in the vicinity of Ashkelon regarding the infiltration of an enemy aircraft, the Israeli Air Force successfully intercepted a drone that penetrated Israeli airspace,” the army said in a statement.
The Israeli army repeatedly announces that it has intercepted drones and missiles reaching the country’s airspace, in light of the ongoing confrontations between it and many armed factions in the neighborhood and the region alike.
On October 2, footage was circulated showing a fire breaking out inside an Israeli gas station off the coast of Ashkelon after it was targeted by an Iranian missile.
And before that, in late September, the Houthi Ansar Allah movement announced that it had carried out two military operations targeting the Israeli depth in Jaffa and Ashkelon with a ‘Palestine 2’ missile and a ‘Jaffa’ drone.
