Ithra Unveils Multicultural Eid Al-Adha Festivities with Over 30 Events

Dhahran: The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), an initiative of Aramco, is set to launch an extensive celebratory program for Eid Al-Adha. The four-day event will commence on the second day of the Eid holidays, from May 28 to 31, 2026, offering a rich tapestry of cultural experiences.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the program, themed "Ithra Eid: Moments We Share," will feature more than 30 activities designed to embody the spirit and joy of Eid. This year's celebrations aim to redefine the concept of festivity by transforming Ithra's facilities into cultural hubs that highlight six different cultures from the Islamic world. This initiative underscores Ithra's dedication to providing exceptional experiences to its visitors, further solidifying its position as a cultural and creative hub.

Visitors will begin their journey in the plaza, where they can explore perfumes inspired by various Saudi cities at the "Story in The Scent" station. This station will offer an opportunity to learn about the blending of scents that capture the essence of Eid, featuring fragrances that narrate stories and maintain the aromatic heritage of Eid rituals. Another highlight is the "Grandma's Eid Tales" corner, where guests can participate in creating a live mural using virtual reality technology.

For three days, attendees will enjoy performances by one of the Gulf's most notable contemporary voices. The "Tafasahu" exhibition will invite reflection on the traditional "Majlis" (Gathering Space) by deconstructing it into its core elements, focusing on stories, memories, and traces of daily life that once filled these spaces. The Majlis served not only as a place of hospitality but also as a medium for cultural and heritage transmission.

In the Library, stories of Eid will be narrated, while the Children's Museum will take young visitors on a virtual global journey to discover how Eid is celebrated across different cultures and the traditional clothing associated with it. Children will have the chance to design their own creations using playful techniques that capture global joy. A short film highlighting the beauty of clothing and Eid Al-Adha traditions will also be screened as part of this enriching experience.
