Madinah: Livestock markets and slaughterhouses in the Madinah Region experienced high consumer demand during the first two days of Eid Al-Adha. Overseen by the regional branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, operations prioritized public health and fluid movement, ensuring an abundant and diverse supply of sacrificial animals at various price points to meet community needs.
According to Saudi Press Agency, to accommodate the festive influx, the main Madinah livestock market utilized over 160 pens, 106 feed warehouses, and 227 regulated temporary seasonal selling sites. Processing was expedited through 17 slaughter halls distributed across six primary slaughterhouses. The entire operation was managed by a field force of 557 specialized personnel, including veterinarians, health inspectors, technicians, and crowd management teams, to guarantee meat safety and streamline consumer services.
