NWC Completes 50 Projects at over SAR2.4 Billion in 2026

Riyadh: The National Water Company (NWC) continued its efforts to promote and support sustainable development in the Kingdom by completing 50 projects with a total value of over SAR2.4 billion during 2026. These projects helped deliver water and sanitation services to beneficiaries in various regions of the Kingdom.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the implementation of these projects will help increase coverage percentages for water and sanitation services, improve operational efficiency, and keep pace with the growing demand for services. The projects aim to enhance operational performance and fulfill the government's aspirations to raise the standard of water services provided to beneficiaries, while strengthening the water resources system and the infrastructure for water and environmental services.

NWC noted that it has completed 33 water projects valued at more than SAR1.1 billion, in addition to 17 sanitation projects with a total value of SAR1.3 billion. These projects were implemented in various regions of the Kingdom, contributing to the strengthening of the water and sanitation system.

The company highlighted that the most significant outcomes of these completed projects include the expansion of main lines and feeder networks with a total length exceeding 1,360 km, of which 883 km consist of water lines and networks and 477 km consist of wastewater lines and networks. Additionally, there has been an increase in the storage capacity of operational reservoirs by 210,000 cubic meters, an increase in the capacity of wastewater treatment plants (STPs) by 15,500 cubic meters per day, and an increase in the capacity of pumping and lift stations by 307,000 cubic meters per day.

NWC stressed that the projects were implemented in accordance with best practices and approved methodologies for professional project management, through policies, procedures, and performance indicators that are measured periodically, in accordance with NWC-approved governance requirements and in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 programs.
