On behalf of Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, imam and Khatib of the Prophet’s Mosque Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Sulaiman Al-Muhanna today inaugurated the historic Hadrovic Mosque, following its reconstruction and renovation generously funded by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The mosque is the largest in the capital, Podgorica, in the Republic of Montenegro, and is over 300 years old.
The reconstruction and renovation of the mosque come as part of the Kingdom’s efforts to strengthen ties with Muslims worldwide and to ensure that mosques serve as beacons of knowledge. Hadrovic Mosque covers an area of about 1,000 square meters and can accommodate over 1,500 worshippers. It includes various facilities, such as a women’s prayer area and a basement, making it a center for promoting the noble teachings of Islam and reinforcing values of peaceful coexistence among diverse members of the community.

lamic Community Sheikh Rifat Fejzic praised the pioneering role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting places of worship and promoting values of moderation and tolerance. He expressed his deep gratitude to the leadership of the Kingdom for its generous initiative to complete the construction of the mosque.
Mufti of the capital Sheikh Jamal Rugmatovic expressed his appreciation for the continuous support of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and HRH the Crown Prince for places of worship and Islamic projects around the world, saying that the generous support reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting Muslims worldwide.
Podgorica Mayor Olivera Injac highlighted the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting projects that promote values of tolerance and coexistence among diverse cultures. She expressed her deep gratitude to the Kingdom’s leadership and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs for their significant efforts in promoting tolerance and peace, affirming that Hadrov
ic Mosque will serve as a beacon for cooperation and communication among the Podgorica community.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Saudi Ambassador to the Republic of Albania and Non-resident Ambassador to Montenegro Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Atiq, several officials from the government of Montenegro, and scholars.
