Robotics, AI Contribute to Serving Pilgrims and Enriching Their Religious Experience

Kuala lumpur: The religious system at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque is undergoing rapid technological transformation, reflected in the use of robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), and modern digital technologies to manage and operate religious and enrichment services, a move that underscores the significant advancement in services provided to pilgrims from around the world.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque is developing an integrated operational system that combines religious guidance with smart technologies through the activation of guidance and awareness programs, answering visitors' inquiries, providing instant translation, and offering multilingual digital broadcasting. This is in addition to expanding technology-driven services aimed at enriching the experience of pilgrims and Umrah performers.

Among the most notable aspects of this transformation is the use of smart robots in the Two Holy Mosques to provide religious and spatial guidance through multilingual, interactive technologies. This facilitates quick and efficient access to information and religious services while addressing the high volume of visitors during the Hajj and Umrah seasons.

AI applications have also strengthened the religious system by developing digital tools to improve the management of awareness content, expand access to educational and guidance messages, and support the instant translation and digital broadcasting of lessons and sermons. These advancements ensure that the message of the Two Holy Mosques reaches Muslims around the world.
