Saudi-Chinese Contracting Forum Wraps Up in Shenzhen with Major Cooperation Agreements

Shenzhen: The Saudi-Chinese Contracting Forum concluded today in Shenzhen, China, under the patronage of Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majed Al-Hogail. The forum brought together representatives of the China International Contractors Association (CHINCA), the China Chamber of Commerce for Foreign Contractors, and leading Saudi and Chinese construction companies. The event marked a strategic step toward building a sustainable institutional partnership between the two countries in housing and urban development.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the forum provided a platform to expand cooperation between the Saudi and Chinese contracting sectors. It also opened new opportunities for knowledge transfer and the exchange of expertise while enhancing the participation of international companies in major development projects across the Kingdom. These efforts are expected to improve sector efficiency and accelerate project delivery.

The forum witnessed the signing of strategic agreements and memoranda of understanding with leading Chinese companies, including POWERCHINA, CRCC, and China Construction Bank. The agreements aim to attract global expertise, localize modern construction technologies, strengthen local content through knowledge transfer, and build national capabilities.

In his opening remarks, Al-Hogail said the forum represents a shift from addressing individual challenges to establishing a comprehensive institutional framework for cooperation. He noted that the framework would help empower the sector, enhance its competitiveness, increase the attractiveness of investment in the Saudi real estate market, and create a supportive environment for developing local supply chains and localizing modern construction technologies.

The forum forms part of the Saudi Contractors Authority's efforts to strengthen the presence of the Saudi contracting sector in international markets and build strategic relationships with global entities and companies.
